Semi-refined kappa-Carrageenan
Semi-refined kappa-carrageenan (Processed Eucheuma Seaweed). Yellowish to tan, coarse
to fine powder or granule of mesh size 10-40 or 120. Can be used as a substitute
of refined kappa-carrageenan when clarity is not required. Also popular in
applications such as beer clarifier and petfood additive.
Loss on drying(105°C, 4hr) ≤15% Potassium Gel Strength (1.5% gel+0.2% KCl at 20°C, 12-18hr) ≥400 g/cm2 Viscosity (1.5% solution at 75°C) ≥20 cps Total Ash (750°C, 4hr) ≤30% Acid Insoluble Ash ≤1% Sulphate Ester 15-40% PH (1.5% solution at 60°C) 8-10 Heavy metal (as Lead) ≤5 mg/kg Arsenic ≤2 mg/kg
