Limited Slip Differential - Totally Automatic
The goal is to make use of traction available to both wheels without compromising the handling characteristic of the vehicle. An open type differential will equally divide the torque between the two wheels but is limited by the wheel with the least amount of traction. An example of this is if one wheel were on mud and other were on dry pavement, the amount of torque delivered to the wheel on dry pavement is equal, the amount of torque required to slip the wheel on mud.
A limited slip differential will allow torque to be unequally divided between the two wheels allowing more torque to delivered to the wheel with the most traction. By biasing torque to the high wheel, more driving force can be exerted to the vehicle.
There are totally interchangeable with original, you can install it also with abs or with electronic traction control.
Our masiero2080 lsd is a limited slip differential, totally automatic. Our system with helical gears, is torque sensing, meaning that as the torque input is increased, the available bias torque also increases. This is because of the force generated by the helical gears create a internal pressure that press the clutches discs.
